2: Section #1: Plan Type

Plan Type

Based on the Attendance Summary from DWH, Oakland Park's Average Daily Attendance is showing an average absenteeism rate of 3.13% for the 2016-17 school year.  Based on last year's data, our goal is to decrease both the Chronic Absenteeism rate by 1% by June 2017.
This school year Oakland Park has 2 attendance reservists who works closely with staff and students.    

 

 

2: Section #2: Purpose of Plan/Projection

Purpose of Plan:

Purpose is to decrease absennteeism and increase number of days students are in school attending to their curricula.  The attendance reservists will meet with students who show chronic absenteeism  each day.

Unexcused Absences

Teachers taking accurate daily attendance, conferencing with parents, and referrals to guidance counselor or social worker for interventions, assistance and promoting Universal Free Breakfast program and recognition awards given for perfect attendance.  The attendance reservists will develop a personal relationship with students as a means to encourage attendance and assist with schoolwork, and provide motivational plans and monitor students progress towards meeting success

 

Excessive Excused Absences
(5 or more in a single month)

Teachers taking accurate daily attendance, conferencing with parents, and referrals to guidance counselor or social worker for interventions and assistance and  promoting Universal Free Breakfast program.

 

Tardiness

Front office staff conferencing with parents upon tardy sign-in to determine reasons for tardies, and referrals to guidance counselor or social worker for interventions and assistance and  promoting Universal Free Breakfast program.

 

Excessive Early Sign Out

Conferencing with parents, and referrals to guidance counselor or social worker for interventions and assistance, ensuring that early sign-out policy is adhered to, parent education of early sign-out policy.
