School Name

Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy (4772)

School Year

2018 - 2019

Title I Requirements

COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT of the entire school (including the needs of migrant children) with information about the academic achievement of children in relation to the state academic content standards.
Describe the process utilized to conduct the comprehensive needs assessment for this school.

After analyzing our 2017-2018 schoolwide data and our School Improvement Goals, we had areas of strength and areas of weaknesses identified.  These findings were shared with all staff members and our parents at the first SAC meeting and pre-planning faculty meeting.
Our ELA proficiency rate increased from  51% to 54 overall, and Math proficiency for the lowest 25% increased from 49% to 51%.
Learning Gains for ELA increased to 56% from 52%, but learning gains in Math decreased from 63%  to 52%.
Proficiency in Science maintained at 51% as measured by the Grade 8 Science assessment.
Our Social Studies Civics data showed remarkable gains in 2016-2017 (13% increase to 81% proficient), but decreased in 2017-2018 back down 12% to 68% proficient. This may have been due to having two teachers that had not taught Civis before being added to grade 7 Social Studies.
Our ELA lowest 25% did not meet the 50% mark and was at 48% learning gains, but our middle school acceleration points inxreased by 4% to 79% for our school.  We increased the amount of students taking Algebra 1 EOC this past year.
The 2018-2019 school year goals are focused in on achieving an "A" rating.  Last year we met 58% criteria and our goal is reach a minimum of 62% criteria mnet as measured by the state assesmsents.  Our school will also implement an SEL (Social Emotional Learning) plan to address the "whole" child during the school day.
Some of the research-based programs Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy is using this year are: Naviance, I-Ready for math and reading, and Keystone Performance Tasks.  Each content area will require a minimum of two performance tasks that emulate the rigor required for the state assessments.
The tutoring and ELO prgrams will begin second quarter as well as FSA Saturday camps.  Course recovery will be scheduled each quarter using Odyssey and I-ready components.
Our ELL population has maintinaed since last year and our achedule provides a sheltered and mainstream model.  Our ESE students are following an inclusion schedule with support facilitators assigned to each team.  our ESOLcontact and Reading Coach assist in any scheduling issues that may arise with our special program students to ensure they are receiving the correct instructional rescources needed.

Instruction by HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS in all core content area classes
List instructional staff and paraprofessionals that are NOT highly qualified (instructional staff only).

This year we have 21 teachers who are Not Highly Qualified, with almost half of them (11) that only need their Gifted Endorsement.  The following teachers have been identified as NOT Highly Qualified  for the 2018-2019 school year as indicated in the B1 report:

Julie Campbell, Barry Coe, Annemarie Coniglio, Edward Doyle, Michelle Federella, Kelley Fisher, Nataliya Fletcher, Aaron Galit, Lori Katz, Danielle Kelly, John Lane, Constance McKnight, Shannon McLeese, Ralph Mompoint, Wendy Moskowitz, Ajit Ramraj, Yolanda Rivera, Kylie Simonton, Elizabeth Sorren,  and April Thompson

These teachers are currently working towards highly qualifed status and certification.

ATTRACT HIGH-QUALITY, HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS to the school.
Describe strategies that will be used to attract high-quality, highly qualified teachers.

Strategies to attract Highly-Qualified teachers are: attending the job fairs withour instructional coaches, interviewing committee, and utlizing the District departments for assistance.  In the event an Interim Sub is used, ongoing classroom observations will be done to monitor the candidate.  The Tier Liaison will facilitate matching up new teachers with clinical ed-certified staff to meet monthly.
Millennium 6-12 collaborates with the District's Recruitment Fairs and Instructional Staffing Department.  We utiize the New Teacher Support and NESS Liaison, Professional Learning Communities, District Trainings, and on-site weekly professional learning during mini-workshops.
