What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

While we have streamlined the RTI/MTSS process, and moved from the initial phase to a more advanced phase, we now recognize the needs and benefits of inviting the student's parent(s)/guardian(s) to the meeting to be inclusive, foster shared decision making and actively engage families in their child's academic/behavior progress.

What are we going to do about it?

We have developed a weekly RTI calendar and RTI parent template letter to schedule and invite parent(s)/guardian(s) to attend their child's RTI/MTSS meeting as a way to inform the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the educational support that their child is receiving to bridge the gap between the home-school connection.

Action Plan

As a school, we have implemented daily intervention groups (LLI, Fundations, Quick Reads, Words Their Way, Super QAR, REWARDS, Lively Letters, I-READY math intervention lesson, GO Math Intensive Intervention lessons, etc.) and weekly RTI/MTSS meetings to provide ongoing support to students in grades K through fifth to remediate literacy and math skills.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The RTI/MTSS team will monitor and disaggregate the intervention data collected and provided from the various small intervention groups to measure the success of each student.

For 2018 - 2019
2.2
What elements will be addressed?

Tier 3 academic practices are based on students' needs, aligned with Tier 1 and Tier 2

Why is it occuring?

While we have several students who are not responding successfully to both the core instruction and the Tier 2 intervention instruction, the RTI/MTSS team deems it necessary to move forward to Tier 3 academic practices that are based on students' needs and aligned to Tier 1 and Tier 2 academic practices before referring students for further evaluation.

What are we going to do about it?

We have scheduled the students who are not responding successfully to the core instruction, Tier 1 and Tier 2 intervention instruction for daily Tier 3 academic practices in an effort to increase the frequency and duration of educational support, prior to requesting further evaluation.

Action Plan

As a school, we have implemented a process with a checklist for referring students for further evaluation when students do not successfully respond to Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3 academic practices.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The RTI/MTSS team will monitor and disaggregate the Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention data collected and provided from the various small intervention groups to measure the success of each student.  Additonally, the RTI/MTSS team will review and compare the number of students referred for evaluation and staffed in the previous school year in comparison to the current school year.
