What elements will be addressed?

The leadership team actively engages in ongoing professional development

Why is it occuring?

It is occurring because we need to provide more professional development and support to teachers on the MTSS/RtI process. We need to identify our greatest areas of need for teachers and then a plan needs put in place to address areas of need.

What are we going to do about it?

In order to address this we are going to gather information from our Support Staff, Team Leaders, and Teachers to identify areas of need with the MTSS/RtI process.  Then we are going to put a plan in place to provide teachers with more professional development and support from the Leadership Team and District on the RtI process.

Action Plan

Our Leadership and CPS Team has gathered information on areas of need for the MTSS/RtI Process.  These areas include a need for more training and support with BASIS, Tier interventions, graphing, and progress monitoring.  In order to address the area of need pertaining to BASIS, we have an individual from the District that will be providing a BASIS training to teachers. For our tier interventions, we are providing teachers with more support identifying and implementing different interventions that can be used for Tier 2 and 3.  We have case managers from our Support Team for every grade level to guide and support teachers with interventions, progress monitoring, and data collection.  In order to address our area of need with graphing and monitoring student progress, we have provided teachers with a Graphing Data Organizer and an RtI Progress Monitoring Log.  We will monitor teacher usage and implementation of these resources throughout the school year.  Lastly, we have put into place a CHAMPS PD throughout the year to support teachers with their Tier 1 behavior strategies.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

One way we will monitor and measure our success is based on teacher preparedness for weekly RtI meetings.  We keep weekly meeting notes that will be monitored by the CPS Team to track student progress and teacher implementation.  Case managers will monitor RtI students for their grade level and ensure the RtI process is being implemented with fidelity.  Our weekly Support Team meetings will involve discussion and monitoring of RtI students and the RtI process.  We will track RtI student data through iReady and our formative assessments to determine student growth and success.

What elements will be addressed?

Tier 1 behavior practices identify school-wide expectations

Why is it occuring?

It is occurring because we need to put more training and support in place for teachers regarding each of the Tiers. One particular area we will be focusing on is Tier 1 behavior.

What are we going to do about it?

We are going to ensure that Tier 1 (core) behavior and social-emotional practices exist that clearly identify school-wide expectations, social-emotional skills instruction, classroom management practices, and school-wide behavior and social-emotional data.

Action Plan

Our Action Plan will involve providing all teachers with CHAMPS PD throughout the year to ensure our Tier 1 behavior strategies are being implemented with fidelity.  We will also be utilizing our School-wide Positive Behavior Plan as a guide to ensuring our behavior expectations and rules are being taught in the classroom and throughout the school.  School-wide expectations have been put in place and posted throughout the building, teachers are implementing behavior lesson plans, and routines/procedures are being monitored throughout the school to ensure effectiveness.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will monitor and measure our success through our School-wide Positive Behavior Plan meetings and data tracking.  Each quarter our team will meet to review and gather behavior data and then present to the entire staff.  Based on our behavior data we will be able to determine success and make any necessary adjustments to our SPBP.  Administration will also monitor implementation through classroom walkthroughs and observations utilizing iObservation.
