Information & Technology - Department Goals

I&T Department Description:  The Information & Technology Department is the unit of the Operations Division that provides technology leadership for the design, implementation, and support of the district’s computing infrastructure.

Goal #1:     Provide a robust communications infrastructure that will support the educational and operational needs of the District.

Objective 1.1: Manage all aspects of Broward School’s E-Rate filings and accounting processes to enable the District to secure E-Rate funding for technology infrastructure upgrades and major telecommunications costs where appropriate and eligible.
Objective 1.2:  Manage and maintain the district’s communications systems to support the teaching and learning environment.

Goal #2:      Provide centralized technical support and assistance for schools and departments.

Objective 2.1:       Ensure technical assistance to schools and departments.
Objective 2.2:       Provide centralized call-in technical support to record and track technology related issues through an Incident Management system.

Goal #3:    Provide application support for enterprise data systems for schools and departments.

Objective 3.1:       Provide ongoing end-user support.
Objective 3.2:       Provide data center and infrastructure support.
Objective 3.3:       Provide integration and programming support.
