The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the District for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2013.

 This was the eighteenth consecutive year that the District has received this prestigious award. The Certificate of Achievement of Excellence Award certifies that the CAFR substantially conformed to the accounting and reporting standards adopted by GFOA.
The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting to the District for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2013.

This was the thirtieth consecutive year that the District has received this prestigious award. In order to be awarded a Certificate of Excellence, a governmental unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized CAFR, the contents of which conform to program standards.

Such reports must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles in the United States and applicable regulatory requirements. A Certificate of Excellence is valid for one year only.
